Scrubbing should be done gently with fingertips in a circular motion, ideally in the shower or right before going into the shower. Scrubs should not be used if you experience an active outbreak of acne because they can aggravate the problem and introduce infection. Also don’t scrub if you have an active infection, cold sore, sunburn, extremely dry skin, redness or inflammation for any reason. Let skin heal first. Fresh face scrubs are the best, it is better to make a face scrub just enough for one time use. Body scrubs contain oil and can make the tub or shower slippery. Be extra careful as you may slip. Be sure to wash well the tub when you’re done.
