1. Easy Universal Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsps. Beer yeast
  • Some water

Instructions: Just mix the yeast with some pure water – enough so you can make a thick paste. Spread the mask on the face while you keep off the eyes and under-eye area, and leave it for 20 minutes. Next, wash it off with some lukewarm water. This mask can be applied for the hair as well. The quantities will depend on the length and the volume of the hair. Do not wash the hair with shampoo afterwards.

 

2. Magical Bulgarian Face Mask for All Skin Types

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 Tbsps. Rose water
  • 2-3 Tbsps.
  • Honey 1 Tbsp.
  • Almond oil (or other carrier oil of choice)
  • 3 drops Liquid vitamin E A few drops Rose or Calendula essential oil

Instructions: Mix well the ingredients. Apply on clear skin on the face and neck. Leave the mask for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water. Apply non-toxic moisturizing crème.

 

3. Universal Ayurvedic Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. Multani Mitti powder (Fuller’s earth)
  • 1 Tbsp. Orange peel powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Neem powder 1 Tbsp.
  • Manjistha powder 1 Tbsp.
  • Rose blossom powder
  • Some hot water

Instructions: Mix the powders in a dark glass jar with a tight lid. Store the mixture in a dark and cool place. Take 1-2 Tbsps. of the herbal mix and mix it with some hot water – enough to form a paste. Let the herbs steep for about 5 minutes and apply on the face, but avoid the eye contour. Leave the mask to work for 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. If you wish to enhance this recipe, you can add some Aloe Vera gel, rose water, or some lemon/lime juice.

 

4. Nourishing Face&Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2  Tbsp. Beer yeast
  • Half lemon

Instructions: Squeeze the juice from the lemon and mix it with the yeast. Stir well to blend the ingredients well and the mask is ready. Stay with the mask for 30 minutes and wash off with pure water.

 

5. Nourishing Edible Face Mask with Chia

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Green tea
  • 2 Tbsps. Chia seeds
  • 3 Tbsps. Honey

Instructions: Use cool green tea and mix it with the chia seeds. Leave the seeds to bulk up for about 10 minutes. Add the honey and stir. When the honey is completely dissolved, the mask is ready. Apply on the face and leave it to work for at least 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Cool the rest of the mixture in the fridge and drink!

 

6.Simple Semolina Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsps. Semolina 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. Honey
  • 1 tsp. Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions: Mix well all ingredients until they are fully homogenous. Apply the mask on the skin and leave it to dry out completely. Remove the mixture with warm water. In the end, rinse the face with cool water to tighten the pores.

 

7.  Simple Nourishing Face Mask with Kiwi

Ingredients:

  • 1 Kiwi 1 Tbsp.
  • Yogurt 1 Tbsp.
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions: Peel the kiwi, cut it in pieces, place it in a cup, and mash it with a fork. Add the other ingredients and stir well. Apply on clean skin and leave the mask to work for 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Apply hydrating lotion. Repeat the procedure twice a week.

 

8. Refreshing Exotic Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Papaya
  • 1 cup Pineapple
  • 5 Strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey

Instructions: Place the ingredients in a blender and mince them well. Pour the puree in ice cube molds and freeze it. When you wish to refresh and tone your skin, simply melt one of the cubes and apply. Remember to avoid the eye contour area. Wait for 10 minutes and wash off with warm water.

 

9. Protein Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. High quality gelatin
  • 2 Tbsps. Warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice

Instructions: Mix the ingredients and apply on the face. Leave the mask for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.

 

10. Nourishing Toning Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 Small cucumber
  • 2 Tbsps. Yogurt
  • 4 Tbsps. Beer yeast

Instructions: Place the ingredients in a blender and stir until the mixture becomes homogenous. Place the mask on the skin and let it do its magic for 30 minutes. Wipe it off with a soft clean napkin.

 

11. Nourishing Japanese Camellia Oil Blend

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Japanese Camellia oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Apricot oil
  • 2 tsps. Argan oil
  • 10 drops Neroli essential oil

15. Universal Nourishing Oil Blend 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsps. Perilla oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Hazelnut oil
  • 1 tsp. Jojoba oil
  • 6 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 4 drops Orange essential oil

Instructions: The instructions for this oil blend are the same as the previous recipe. Remember to use this oil only in the evening! Citrus essential oils may cause skin pigmentation after exposure to the sun!

 

16. Nourishing Fruit Oil Blend

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsps. Passion fruit oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Strawberry oil
  • 5 drops Tangerine essential oil

Instructions: Simply mix the ingredients in a glass jar and stir well. Apply a few drops of the serum on the face and neck in the evening and gently massage. Remember to use this oil only in the evening! Citrus essential oils may cause skin pigmentation after exposure to the sun! To make the daytime version, substitute the Tangerine oil with other suitable non-citrus essential oil. Note: All the oil blend recipes can be transformed into crèmes and lotions. If you prefer this option just follow these instructions: First, warm the carrier oils in the double boiler. Second, when the oils are fully melted and blended add some vegetable emulsifier. For about 5 Tbsps. carrier oil, add 1 Tbsp. emulsifier. Stir until the ingredients are fully melted and blended. Third, slowly add equal quantity distilled water or flower water (Rose, Lavender, Neroli, etc.), and continue stirring. For best results and for the process to be seamless, warm the water to the same temperature as the oils. Finally, take the mixture off the heat and continue stirring. Now add the essential oils and blend the ingredients one last time. Pour the mixture in the desired container and store in the appropriate place.

 

17. Coconut Nourishing Face Butter

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 Tbsps. Coconut butter
  • 1 tsp. Camellia oil
  • 1 tsp. Peach oil
  • 5 drops Jasmine essential oil
  • 5 drops Sandal wood essential oil

Instructions: Simply mix all ingredients in a suitable glass jar with a lid. If the coconut butter is too hard, soften it in some hot water. Apply the oil on clean skin and leave it to be absorbed as much as possible.

 

18. Nourishing Herbal Face Crème

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. St. John’s wort
  • 1 Tbsp. Chamomile
  • 1 Tbsp. Calendula 7 oz. (approx.)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsps. Homemade non-toxic lotion

Instructions: Mix the herbs in a glass jar with about 13 oz. volume. Pour the olive oil to fully cover the herbs. Put on the lid and leave the jar in a warm and sunny place for 45 days. Strain the infusion and keep it in a sealed container in a dark and cool place. In a small cosmetic glass jar, mix the lotion and 1 tsp. of the infused oil. You can adjust the quantity of the olive oil according to your skin type. For example, if your skin is oily, add half a teaspoon, etc. If you wish to make the oil infusion even stronger, you can leave the herbs to soak, and strain just small amounts for your fresh batch of crème. Apply the crème in the evening and leave it to hydrate and nourish your skin the whole night. Store the lotion in the fridge.

 

19. Universal Nourishing Herbal Face & Hand Crème

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsps. Coconut butter
  • 3 Tbsps. Lanoline
  • 1/2 cup Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Beeswax
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Cocoa butter
  • 1 tsp. Vitamin E oil
  • 2 Aloe Vera leaves (4-5 years old)
  • 7 Tbsps. Chamomile tea

Instructions: Place the coconut butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, lanoline, and the beeswax in a double boiler and heat them. Stir well until everything is fully melted and blended. Next, add the Chamomile tea and stir again. When the mixture becomes fully homogenous, take it off the heat. In the meantime, extract the gel from the Aloe Vera leaves, or use some high quality store-bought gel. When the oily mixture has cooled off a bit, add the Aloe gel and the Vitamin E oil. Stir well and the crème is ready! This recipe may not be suitable for oily skin types, but it is an excellent nourishing and moisturizing lotion for dry hands! If you are not able to use this crème regularly, make smaller bathes, so that it won’t spoil.

 

20. Simple Make-up Remover

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsps. Jojoba oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Hazelnut oil
  • Some Rose or Lavender flower water

Instructions: Mix the two oils in a dark glass container with a lid. It is best to use a special essential oil glass jar with a droplet. Shake or stir the blend well to mix the ingredients completely. Take a cotton ball and soak it with the flower water. Add a few drops of the oil blend and gently remove your make-up. Voila!

 

21. Orange Peel Face Mask

Orange peels can open and cleanse clogged pores while removing excess oil from your skin without causing it any damage. You can find orange peel face packs in market but since it might contain many chemicals, it’ll be better and healthier to prepare your own orange peel face mask at home.

Ingredients : Orange peels Water or yogurt

Instructions : Take orange peels and let them dry in sun for 2-3 days. After the peels are fully dried, put them in a grinder and grind them until you get a fine powder. Mix some powder with yogurt or water, as per your wish, to make a paste. Apply mask on your face, scrub it for few seconds and leave it for about 20 minutes. Then wash your face with cold water. Tip: You can store the remaining powder in a jar for future use.

 

22. Banana Face Mask

This mask works best for oily skin, giving it a soothing and relaxing effect. For this mask you will need ripe bananas. You can keep bananas in your freezer for later use as well, but you’ll have to thaw it before use.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, fully ripe
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Few drops of fresh lemon or orange juice

Instructions : Take fully ripe banana, mash it and add 1 tablespoon of honey. As an alternative, you can also use a blender. Then add a few drops of lemon or orange juice in the mixture and again mix it well. After applying the mask on your face, leave it for 15 minutes. For rinsing you can use a steaming warm washcloth or a cool washcloth, as per your choice.

 

23. Papaya Face Mask

Although papaya is known to be suitable for all skin types, it is especially useful for those with oily face. This mask benefits oily skin by eliminating excessive oil from the skin. Since oily skin requires frequent exfoliation, enzymes found in papaya helps with this. Papaya also works excellent for people with acne and blemishes. Applying papaya face mask regularly can make your skin look fresh, glowing and youthful. So, if you wish for even-tone, no wrinkles and no discoloration then this could be your answer.

Ingredients

Papaya Few drops of lemon juice

Instructions: Take a piece of papaya and puree it in a bowl. You can simply apply the paste on your face or you can add a few drops of lemon in it. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes then rinse off with water.

 

24. Tomato Face Mask

A very useful facial mask to help you manage your greasy skin is Tomatoes face mask. It works by dissolving excessive oil while minimizing large size of pores. The natural acids found in tomatoes are very helpful in regulating oily skin.

Ingredients

  • ½ ripe tomato
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions: The simplest way in which tomatoes facial mask can be applied is by just mashing a tomato and applying it on your face. To make it even more beneficial you can add lemon juice in it. Take ½ tomato, make sure it’s ripe. Blend tomato into a smooth puree then add ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and mix it. Apply the mixture all over your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and apply your regular moisturizer.

 

25. Bentonite Clay Face Mask

When we talk about clay masks there could be no better option than green clay. Although, there are several types of clays available but for this mask we need Bentonite, also known as ‘Green Clay’ which works wonderfully for greasy or oily skin.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon green clay
  • 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil
  • 3 drops palmarosa essential oil

Instructions: All the ingredients can easily be available at a health or natural food store. Take 1 tablespoon of green clay, 3 drops of palmarosa essential oil and 1 teaspoon of apricot kernel oil and mix all these ingredients well. Add in a few warm water drops and mix. As per need, you can add few more drops of warm water and make a consistent paste that can be evenly spread. Apply the paste on face, leave it for about 15 minutes and let it dry. Use a warm washcloth to rinse it off.

 

26. Fuller’s Earth Face Mask

Another great option for those having oily skin is Fuller’s earth, also known as ‘Multani Mitti’. Some would even name it as the best face mask for oily skin owing to its oil and dirt soaking properties from skin. It’s been used since ancient times as a natural remedy for treating acne and works as a very effective natural cleanser. Its natural cleansing and oil reducing properties allow it to remove greasiness, impurities and dead skin cells, giving you smooth and fresh skin.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 tablespoons of Fuller’s earth
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water
  • A few drops of lemon juice

Instructions : Take 2 or 3 tablespoons of Fuller’s earth and let it soak in warm water to make a spreadable paste. Add 1 tablespoon of rose water and a few lemon juice drops and mix it thoroughly. If you find mixture thick, add some more warm water. Leave the mask on your face for 20-30 minutes and then wash with warm water. Tip: To prevent over dryness, a tablespoon of milk can also be added.

 

27. Gram Flour, Milk and Turmeric Face Mask

This facial mask works best for greasy, acne prone skin as turmeric and gram flour make a very effective face pack for greasy, oily skin. It works by deep cleansing and removing the dead skin cells from your skin, leaving your face oil free, clean and fresh. You can also use this mask as a natural exfoliator or face scrub.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons of gram flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder

Instructions : Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour, 2 tablespoons of milk and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder, mix the ingredients until it turns into a fine paste. Apply the paste on your face, leave it for about 20-30 minutes and rinse it off with tepid water. Tip: It’s an ideal mask for darker, olive skin tone, as turmeric is likely to stain fair skin.

  • 1/3 cup of oatmeal
  • ¼ cup of honey
  • Few drops of lemon juice

Instructions : Take oatmeal in a grinder and grind it into a fine powder. Next you have to add lemon juice and honey, now mix the ingredients together. Apply the mixture on face and let the mask sit.   • soft avocado

  • 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil

2. Apply the mask to your clean, dry face, avoiding the eye area, and allow to sit for 10 minutes.

77. Organic Apple, Honey and Sage Mask

A simple homemade recipe for acne-prone or oily skin. Sage has antibiotic properties that can help to cleanse skin.

Preparation Time: 55mins

List of Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons organic honey
  • 1 organic apple
  • ½ teaspoons sage

Procedure:

1. Wash the apple. Without peeling, remove the core and cut into wedges. Using a food processor blitz the apple into a puree. Add the organic honey and sage and blend until a silky paste has formed.

2. Transfer to a bowl and place in the refrigerator to cool for 15-20 minutes.

3. Using clean fingertips, gently pat the mask onto your clean face and neck. Avoid the eye area.

4. Lie down and allow the mask to sit on the skin for 20-30 minutes.

5. Wash the mask off with cold water. Pat the skin dry using a clean dry towel. 6. Apply moisturizer to seal in the moisture.

 

78. Cinnamon Spiced Honey Lemon Mask

Cinnamon is a miracle worker; absorbing excess oil, reducing redness, and inflammation. The gentle natural acid in the lemon will exfoliate away dead skin and also help to fade dark spots.

Preparation Time: 22mins

List of Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons runny honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon*
  • 1 wedge lemon

Procedure:

1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir with a spoon until well combined.

2. Apply the mask to your clean, dry face and allow to sit for up to 20 minutes.

3. Rinse away with warm water and pat your face dry with a soft towel. After 5 minutes, follow with your preferred moisturizer. *Some skin is more sensitive to cinnamon than others and may be irritated by it. Before using this mask, it is important to do a patch test. Apply a small amount behind your ear. If you have no reaction after 1 hour, then you are safe to go ahead!

80. Clay, Aloe Vera and Rose Mask

Clay is great for oily skin as it draws out the oil, dirt, and toxins. Tightening, invigorating, and restoring natural balance is what this mask does best.

Preparation Time: 27mins

List of Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon French green clay
  • 1 tablespoon rosewater
  • 1½ Tablespoons aloe vera gel
  • 2 drops 100% rose oil

Procedure:

1. In a small glass bowl combine the French green clay and rosewater. Gradually add the Aloe Vera gel and rose oil to form a silky paste. Allow the mixture to sit for 2-3 minutes so that the clay has time to absorb any moisture.

2. Using a clean facial spatula, smear the mask onto your clean face and neck, taking care to avoid the eye area.

3. Lie down and relax while the mask dries, for around 15-20 minutes.

4. Thoroughly rinse with warm water. Splash your face with cold water and pat dry using a clean, dry towel. Do not rub.

5. Apply a light moisturizer to seal the skin. *It is inadvisable to use a clay mask more than once a week. Not suitable for dry or sensitive skin
