Apply 1-2 drops of Frankincense on the pain points, crown of head, and under tongue twice per day. Also consider Frankincense on the brain stem (base of skull).
Neuralgia is pain that originates from damage or changes to the pathway of a nerve. Pain typically originates when an external stimulus triggers a sensory nerve receptor that, in turn, sends a signal to the brain along a nerve pathway. If the pathway itself is damaged or malfunctions a signal can be sent to the brain that is perceived as pain and is referred to as Neuralgia. The symptoms can vary from sharp and very painful to numbness or muscle weakness depending on the nerve area affected. Neuralgia is commonly a chronic condition that is more common in women than men and is associated with advanced age but may occur at any age.
The most common from of Neuralgia is Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). The Trigeminal nerve is one of twelve nerves that have their root in the brain stem. The nerve divides into three branches and services areas of the face, forehead, gums, jaws, and around the eyes. The symptoms of TN are sudden and severe pain in the facial area. The pain may be triggered by a slight touch or movement and usually lasts several seconds. WebMD “The most frequent cause of trigeminal neuralgia is a blood vessel pressing on the nerve near the brain stem. Over time, changes in the blood vessels of the brain can result in blood vessels rubbing against the trigeminal nerve root. The constant rubbing with each heartbeat wears away the insulating membrane of the nerve, resulting in nerve irritation.”
